This pattern is worked in feltable wool yarns.  The pattern is worked in stockinette stitch, garter stitch, I cord stitch, French knots, and latch hook technique. The cacti are knitted in several different shades of heavy weight, green wool yarn on various size needles. size 10 ½ circular needles. Smaller pads can be made following the same pattern on size 7 needles. The fillers are worked in 75 yards of white heavy weight yarn.  The prickly pear cactus pattern uses approximately 100 yards of green yarn.
