The angel can be worked in a variety of wool weights and needle sizes. Finished size of your wonder will vary depending on these factors. The small Courtney is make using size 1 or 2 circular needles with sport weight 2-plywool, while the large Courtney is made using heavy weight wool on size 10 ½ needles. Remember to use wool, mohair, or similar fiber if you plan to full your finished project. This pattern uses approximately 150 yards of main color yarn, approximately 30 yards of flesh colored yarn, and 40 yards of yarn for hair. This pattern is worked using short rows, I-cord stitch, stockinette stitch and several different knitting patterns as described by Barbara Walker including the butterfly stitch, honeycomb stitch, a feather stitch which is modified from the butterfly stitch. Simpleembroidery is used to finish her face.
