This is an intermediate pattern, worked in feltable heavy weight feltable wool yarn on size 10 ½ circular needles, in stockinette stitch, intarsia, I-cord, and short rows. **The knit side is the right side. Latch hook technique and simple chain stitching are also used for detail work. This pattern uses 140 yards of bulky buff colored wool, 20 yards of bulky black wool yarn, and 4 yards of sport weight pink yarn is used for the tongue. The finished project is then fulled. Long hair is added after the body of the dog is fulled. The yarn for the long hair is approximately 450 yards of single ply sport weight buff colored yarn that has been fulled in the skein. You can add other colors as desired for contrast. This yarn should be made into a skein so you can full the yarn prior to adding it as hair.
