Nelson is an intermediate pattern, made using size 5 needles for the main body and size 1 needles for the tusk. You will use approximately 120 yards of worsted weight black(b) or dark gray wool yarn, 120yards of worsted weight white(w) wool yarn, and 20 yards cream crochet cotton for horn. The pattern is worked using stockinette stitch, short rows, and lots of intarsia techniques. Simple french knots are used to add eyes to the face. Needle felting can be used to add extra spots as desired. Divide your yarn into 2 balls each of white and black. Approximate Gauge (6sts per inch / 7rows per inch) to end with finished Narwhale body of 13 inches long.  I do not full this project when done.
